Introduction

When you record any speech, play it into a computer, reverse it and listen carefully- you will hear another voice that comes from deeper within us.

Reverse Speech is a voice from our more mysterious and transcendent selves.  It is a voice from beyond our thinking minds and beyond our conscious self-image we put forth as we make our way through the world.

Our less conscious Reverse Speech is miraculously and unconsciously reverse embedded into our forward speech, embedded along with our emotional intonation, which is also a natural part of all forward speech.

The meaning of each phrase or segment of our Reverse Speech is always emotionally or mentally associated with it's corresponding forward speech.  The feeling tone expressed in both the forward and reverse speech phrase is the same, but... listening to the transcendently embedded reverse speech gives us more information, more knowledge and much more insight into that greater and mysterious hidden part of us.

Often the information revealed in an individual's Reverse Speech is not just about themselves, but concerns our larger community.  This is because Reverse Speech originates from a place deeper within us, a place where we potentially share a deep and supernatural bond with all of each other.  Information from our deep and transcendent self, our soul, brought to light at SoulSay with the tool of reverse speech is often fascinating and quite surprising.

"I'm going to cheerleading right now and..." "They want you really stupid."

In this example the adolescent subject's unconscious reveals a pressure she feels to conform to the norms of her current environment.  She may only have a vague awareness of this inner feeling and she should be encouraged to remain connected to her inner self, despite the inevitable contrary societal pressures.  We can surmise that the emotional connection between the forward and the reverse speech here is that cheerleading is an activity where intellectual leadership is discouraged.

We may also interpret this example at the larger collective level.  Through a process of "cheerleading" by our mass media and other collective institutions, we are routinely encouraged to think and act without a great amount of awareness.

Wouldn't mind seeing a live one myself.

RS Revelations

Reverse Speech reveals a great deal about human nature.  The most striking revelation of RS is that it provides audible evidence to the fact that there is much more to us as human beings then we are typically aware of.  Our reverse speech most often reveals a larger, more noble being within.

A second revelation of Reverse Speech is that it reveals a part of us that is uncomfortable with a lie.  Like a polygraph test which measures automatic responses associated with lying, Reverse Speech also demonstrates our natural discomfort with lies, and likewise a natural need for truth and harmony.  When a lie is spoken forward, what a person truly believes can be revealed in the reversed speech.  Abundant evidence shows that our Reverse Speech originates from a part of us that does not lie, a place closer to our hearts, and closer to our most natural and healthiest state of being.

John Glenn, Oldest astronaut on return from space. 9/21/1998 "...cardiovascular changes and balance and coordination and the muscle changes and sleep patterns..." "Yes there's a need for harmony."

In this example "Balance and coordination" in the forward speech strikes the chord for "need for harmony" in the reverse.

Another revelation of Reverse Speech is that our less conscious selves are communicating with each other much more than we may have realized.  Reverse Speech shows that we are continuously sharing information from our deeper selves with each other in our speech.  Reverse Speech manifests the stunning revelation that amongst us all, very little remains secret to the unconscious

This sample reveals some harmless personal information.

Laura Lee "Romance a woman and she'll more likely open the doors. Ya know, you've gone through the gatekeeper.  She's going to be discriminating and not have sex unless you romance her." "That's not how I'm gonna get even...Gatekeeper, how's he doing?"

The word gatekeeper occurs in both the forward and the reverse, in different parts of the speech.

Even more astounding though, is that Reverse Speech provides evidence of information being shared amongst us, even beyond the boundaries of time and space.  Reverse Speech reveals that information never revealed among remote and diverse individuals is somehow known unconsciously through some form of mystical conveyance.  This collectively shared and unconscious information amongst us is astounding evidence of what psychologist Carl Jung hypothesized and many others affirmed to be our "collective unconscious."

The use of Reverse Speech and other metaphysical practices for the further realization of our deep and transcendent selves, our souls, through which we are all supernaturally bound, should have a meaningful impact on the direction and growth of our society.

Reverse Speech reveals that even our isolated behaviors, which we may have previously considered to be affecting only us personally, such as private actions and thoughts, do in fact influence our collective whole and therefore each and every one of us.  Again, the further realization of this mystical and spiritual interdependence amongst us should be a compelling influence in our growth.

By listening to reverse speech we may give more attention to the care of our inner selves and we may better learn to think and behave more compassionately.  In this way we can both consciously and unconsciously add soul healing information and energy to our collective consciousness.

How to Hear Reverse Speech

It will take some practice to become adept at hearing Reverse Speech. The greatest obstacle may be your own willingness to face yourself honestly and pursue your own emotional/spiritual-healing.  With that in mind, all you need do is begin listening.  With practice you will become accustomed to the more rapid, airy sound of our transcendent soul speech.  You should also slow the reversed speech down when first listening (increase time to around 120%).  It's best to use a computer and a sound editor when listening to Reverse Speech.  You can find free sound editing software for the PC on the web.  After getting hooked to RS your next problem will be simply deciding what in the world to listen to!

"The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook."  Proverbs 18:4

Our Reverse Speech occasionally speaks with words from our more ancient origins and collective past.  Like images in dreams, some RS words are more symbolic and point to deeper more universal meanings.  What makes a person better able to interpret Reverse Speech is having a large vocabulary, (that is being familiar with a lot of words), understanding people in general, and specifically, the more you know about the speaker you are listening to, the more you will garnish from their RS.  Occasionally you will need a dictionary or want to search the web for reference to any particular unknown word.  As an example, some time ago I heard the word 'Methuselah' in reverse.  I knew I had heard it before but I couldn't recall it's meaning.  After typing the word into a web search I was reminded that Methuselah is the name of the longest living person recorded in the Bible.  In this case the speaker's unconscious was making an association with health and longevity; this example also demonstrates the usefulness of the Bible as a reference to understanding symbols from the voice of Soul.

Listening to our less conscious voice will always be instructive and beneficial.
But...listening takes great care.

Sarah McLachlan,
"Angel"
"Storm keeps on twisting..." "Hurts so it must speak worth."

When you listen to your own RS you will be looking in a mirror that reflects a deeper part of yourself.  Because our own inner voice can be quite surprising at times, it is recommended that you take it slowly at first and give your conscious mind time to absorb the new reality exposed.  RS is a tool along a path of self awareness and healing, but often healing comes with pain.  If you are interested in using RS as a part of your own healing process it may be beneficial to also seek a relationship with a trusting therapist.

RS provides audible evidence of our deeper, soulful nature that speaks what the heart believes, and in many cases you will also hear what I believe to be a Spirit of Truth confirming profound truths passed down through the ages and recorded in our sacred texts.

"But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."  1 Chronicles 12:7

Our Reverse Speech takes us deep into the human soul, and when appreciated along side the wisdom recorded in our holy scriptures, it is profoundly instructive.

Author
"...were adopting the canon and they, and the most popular letters were there in the canon." "I like the Bible.  Sure the law.  The Book."

You can test any Reverse Speech example for artificial editing by following these simple instructions:  Play the reverse sample into a tape recorder;  Play the recorded sample back into your PC sound card (or simply use software that records what the computer is playing).  Reverse the sound file with the sound editor that comes with your PC sound card and you should hear unaltered (other than slowed down) forward speech.

There is nothing technically difficult about listening to Reverse Speech.  Just record any speech into any PC sound card, reverse it, and slow it down.  You may want to start by just listening for the clearest, unmistakable samples you can find.  Then as your confidence and enthusiasm grows you may want to recover more and more by looping and focusing on little sections of speech at a time.

Sometimes you may hear more than one word or phrase embedded in the same segment of speech, but they will be very similar in sound.  This is typical of how our unconscious mind works, it is often conveying a lot of information in a condensed format, like a dream with multiple levels of interpretation.  When you hear more than one phrase or word in a segment of RS, the words should all fit together, be complimentary to each other, and be connected to the forward speech.  (That connection to the forward speech is not always obvious however.)

When you can't make out a word or phrase, skip it and move on.  It's not all clear enough to hear, but with practice you will hear more and more.  It may take some practice before your miraculous ear adjusts to the more rapid and airy sound of Reverse Speech.

Reverse Speech can be difficult to interpret at first.  Reverse Speech can also be difficult to interpret among different speakers.  Trying to understand who is being referred to in the reversed speech can also be confusing.  Here are some useful guidelines:  Our own soul voice often refers to our self as "you."   But sometimes "you" in reverse can refer to the other person in conversation and it is difficult to tell who "you" is.  When our soul voice says "he," and there is nobody else around, our soul may be referring to our transcendent Creator as revealed in our Sacred Texts and through our own spiritual realizations.

Reverse Speech is very powerful, it has the potential to manifest great inner truth.  Reverse Speech also has a transcendent nature to it.   As in dreams, psychic occurrences, and otherwise mysterious spiritual phenomenon, Reverse Speech can transcend the boundaries of time and space as we typically perceive them.  Reverse Speech should be used with great care for the benefit of all.

There is much more information about Reverse Speech among the other links and RS samples.  For the most comprehensive understanding of the material at this site, it is useful to follow the RS samples in the order they have been published, like reading a book- start at sample page one.
